Mission Statement:

To provide a wide variety of professional programs and physical activities that promote and enhance community, learning, leadership, lifelong wellness, and academic success.

The philosophy of OPERS is to promote physical education and wellness as an essential part of the total educational experience, while meeting the diverse recreational needs of UCSC students, faculty, staff and community members. We serve the student with little or no experience as well as the competitive athlete seeking peak performance.  Our courses, activities and programs promote lifetime wellness and offer a variety of challenges.

What we do:

OPERS provides a wide variety of interesting and challenging activities intended to attract you into becoming an active participant. The emphasis is on giving you an opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, relationships and habits that will last a lifetime through enjoyable physical and recreational activity.
