Information on Advanced Scuba Course

PREREQUISITE:

  • Scuba certification, bring copy of this at the first lecture. (See "NOTES" below for more info.)
  • Completed UCSC Scuba Medical Packet, to be turned in at the first lecture.
  • Sign-up begins the first day of instruction at 8 am.  Permission codes to enroll will be given out at the first lecture.

REQUIREMENT FOR CERTIFICATION:

  • Attend the Friday lecture
  • Attend the Skills Review Pool Session
  • Attend all 6 ocean dives in the Carmel/Monterey area
  • Have your own skin gear - mask, snorkel, fins, booties, gloves, web weight belt, 2 weight belt keepers, cutting device, dive light, cylume stick for night dive. You may rent a 7mm dive suit from a local dive shop for the ocean dives.
  • A dive logbook. You may purchase a Scuba Slug logbook at the first lecture or at the ocean dives.

COST: The course fee is $200.

Students - This will be billed to your UCSC student account after you are enrolled.

Additional costs: $25 for the boat dive, $3-5 tip for the boat crew
