Information on Rescue Scuba Course

PREREQUISITE:

  • Advanced Scuba certification, bring copy of this at the first lecture. (See “NOTES” below for more info.)
  • Completed UCSC Scuba Medical Packet, to be turned in at the first lecture.
  • Sign-up begins the first day of instruction at 8 am. Permission codes to enroll will be given out at the first lecture.

REQUIREMENT FOR CERTIFICATION:

  • Certified in Standard First Aid and Adult CPR/AED by the end of the quarter
  • Pass the written exam
  • Attend the lectures
  • Attend the Rescue pool session
  • Attend the Rescue ocean dive
  • TA two Basic pool sessions
  • TA the Basic Skin Dives
  • TA one day of Basic Checkout Dives
  • TA one day of Advanced Dives
  • Have your own skin gear - Mask, snorkel, fins, booties, gloves, web weight belt, 2 weight belt keepers, cutting device. You may rent a 7mm dive suit from a local dive shop for the ocean dives.
  • A dive logbook. You may purchase a Scuba Slug logbook at the first lecture or at the ocean dives.

COST: The course fee is $220.

Students - This will be billed to your UCSC student account after you are enrolled.
